The best is yet to come for Jamal Lewis and Norwich City in the Premier League.
City's accomplished left-back insists the manner of last weekend's emphatic 3-1 win over Newcastle United sends a warning to the rest of the top flight not to dismiss the newly-promoted Canaries.
Lewis admitted Daniel Farke's squad had tougher tests in the Championship in sweeping aside the Magpies, but is likely to face a much harder assignment against Chelsea on Saturday.
"It felt comfortable, much more comfortable than many of the performances in the Championship last season," he said. "It ranks very high and that is our bar and we can even push past that. We know we can stay in this league quite comfortably, we know we can string wins together.
"We know the Premier League is a step up and I recognise that but I am ready for it personally. I did a lot of work in the off-season, to work on what I felt I could improve on, but also my strengths to stand out. I believe I can show this year I can play at the highest level."
Lewis, speaking to the club's Youtube channel, is confident the Carrow Road roar will be just as loud against the Blues as last weekend.
"The fans were amazing (against Newcastle). Probably one of the best atmospheres I have experienced at Carrow Road," he said. "You are not afraid to make mistakes because they get behind you. Knowing you are stepping into that makes things feel so much better.
"It's been a really good training week. That was probably the first three points in the Premier League for most of the squad, which is a good feeling, and now we are building up into Chelsea. A lot of smiles but a lot of hard work this week. There is a feelgood factor, like most of last season, and we have carried that on and we know this is a process."
