Norwich City have reportedly been linked with Leeds United 19-goal hotshot Jermaine Beckford.

Norwich City have reportedly been linked with Leeds United 19-goal hotshot Jermaine Beckford.

The 24-year old former Chelsea trainee has helped fire Leeds into League One play-off contention despite starting the season with a 15-point deduction, but will “quit the club if they fail to win back promotion to the Championship”.

He was named League One Player of the year and ranked 24th overall in FourFourTwo magazine's 50 Best Football League Players this year and is reportedly also attracting interest from Charlton and Wolves.

Meanwhile, it's also been rumoured that Canaries boss Glenn Roeder has “banned players from going clubbing” after Matty Pattison was given a 15-month driving ban at Norwich Magistrates yesterday.

A 'club source' is reported to have said: “It's not really fair that the rest of the players are being punished for something they had nothing to do with.”

Pattison had been in Prince of Wales Road nightclub Mercy until 4.30am and mistakenly drove to Norwich's Colney training ground the next morning whilst still twice over the legal limit.
