Jordan Rhodes aims to right the wrongs of his City league debut when he makes his Carrow Road bow against West Brom.

Rhodes was denied twice at St Andrew’s in the 2-2 draw, but the on-loan striker is ready to shoulder the goalscoring burden against the relegated Baggies this coming weekend.

“All the players in the dressing room are really looking forward to the first home game,” he said. “With them being a particularly good side we will have to be right on our game to make sure that we perform the best we can - and hopefully we can send the crowd home on Saturday night with three points to cheer about and a bit of optimism.

“I’m really, really looking forward to seeing the home crowd going to Carrow Road in the colours of Norwich rather than being an opposition player.

“Norwich is a club that I’ve always had a soft spot for.

“My dad signed for Norwich on-loan some 20 years ago now so it was a proud moment.”

Rhodes, along with Felix Passlack and Aston Oxborough, met Norwich fans at a summer signing session on Wednesday. The 28-year-old, speaking to the club’s official site, admitted he was still annoyed at his Birmingham blank.

“It was one I look back on with a little tinge of regret,” he said. “As a striker it would have been nice to have seen a couple of those chances go in. Credit where credit is due the keeper did make a couple of good saves but strikers always like to score goals.

“I’ll keep getting myself in those positions where the ball might drop and hopefully in the upcoming games one will find the net rather than the keeper’s hands.

“It was a pity we couldn’t win the game but at the same time at least we got our just rewards and managed to get a point.”
