Daniel Farke will be batting away questions about Norwich City's Europa League chances after a mid-season spurt but Premier League relegation beckons this coming season, according to analysis commissioned by BT Sport.

The broadcaster has used big data and artificial intelligence to predict the fortunes of all 20 Premier League clubs for the new 2019/20 season.

Leading data scientists and real-time sports analysis experts, Squawka, have analysed football data from Opta, and hosted on the Google cloud platform - and the number-crunching is not good news for Farke's new boys.

Teemu Pukki will top the scoring charts for City with nine in the league, while Emi Buendia will add five goals and six assists but a heavy defeat on the opening night at Liverpool will set the tone.

In other lowlights, Norwich are predicted to concede more goals than any Premier League team (71) and become the most relegated team ever from the Premier League as they go down for a fifth time.

Below is extracts from the BT Sport commissioned report on how the Canaries will fare.

- Gulf in class (game weeks one to 12)

Premier League opening night follows a pattern. Norwich City is thrashed by Liverpool. But the Canaries were the dominant side in the Championship last season. By game week 12 they start to play like it. They are ninth with five victories. Manchester City have failed to win at Carrow Road. Norwich sit 10 places above the other two newly promoted sides. Daniel Farke finds himself playing down talk of a push for Europa League qualification.

- Drought (game weeks 13 to 22)

Norwich go 10 top flight games without a win. It is the second worst run of this kind in the league for 2019/20. Defeat away to Everton started it. Norwich is now in a relegation battle.

- The highlight (game weeks 29 to 32)

The Emirates away end erupts at the full time whistle. Arsenal players traipse off. Norwich win 2-1. Pukki has scored their 400th Premier League goal to secure three points. It is only their second win against Arsenal in the league since 1992. Payback the week before against Everton took Norwich out of the relegation zone. Now they are four points above it.

- What goes up must come down (game weeks 33 to 38)

Norwich's biggest league win of the season turned out to be their last. Three points against confirmed champions Manchester City on the final day were required to survive. The season ends almost exactly as it began. They are thrashed away to one of England's elite. Norwich suffer a record fifth relegation from the Premier League.

Back in the real world, City defied even the most optimistic expectations of their fan base to clinch a deserved Championship title win.

Farke and sporting director Stuart Webber have made it clear the philosophy will not change in the big league, with targeted signings this summer so far to supplement a squad set to get a chance to make the step up.

City host Atalanta on Tuesday night in their penultimate pre-season friendly before Toulouse visit Carrow Road.
