Ralf Fahrmann has left Norwich City to link up with Norwegian top flight club SK Brann on loan until the summer, after cutting short his season-long deal with the Canaries.

The Schalke 04 stopper travelled to Norway last week, after Daniel Farke had confirmed City had given permission for the experienced keeper to hold talks.

Reports in Norway suggest he had played in a friendly game for Brann over the weekend prior to sealing his move.

Tim Krul has remained the undisputed number one at Carrow Road, with Fahrmann limited to just three senior outings.

The 31-year-old made only one Premier League appearance in the 2-0 defeat at Crystal Palace but was forced to depart in the first half through injury.

City have Michael McGovern to provide back up to Krul for the rest of the campaign with the likes of Scottish youngster Archie Mair in the club's development set-up.

The Norwegian league season begins in April and Fahrmann is expected to spend the first four months at Brann until June 30 before returning to Germany in a bid to resume his place as number one at Schalke 04, under former Huddersfield boss David Wagner.

Current first choice Alexander Nubel has sealed a pre-contract move to German heavyweights Bayern Munich.
