Norwich City have completed a third transfer deal on Thursday with FC Augsburg's Moritz Leitner sealing a loan move until the end of the season.
The 25-year-old joins Onel Hernandez and Dennis Srbeny at Carrow Road on a hectic day for the Canaries.
“I’m glad to be coming to a big team,” said Leitner. “I just want to play football and help the team on the pitch.
“I’ve heard it’s an amazing stadium with amazing fans. I can’t wait to start; I want to start playing now.
“Maybe I’ll have to wait a little bit, but I can’t wait to feel the atmosphere in the stadium and on the pitch and for sure I want to celebrate with the team, the club and the fans.”
City head coach Daniel Farke worked with the talented midfielder at Dortmund.
“He’s a player of unbelievable potential,” said Farke. “He has 100 appearances in the Bundesliga, several appearances in the Champions League, has won the German title, has won the German Cup, and was on the bench in the Champions League final.
“He is still a young player with potential, but he also has a lot of experience. He’s had a difficult couple of years, but we feel we can develop him and bring him back to his full potential.”
Leitner admits working with Farke again is a big draw
“I know him, he knows me,” Leitner told the club’s official site. “I’m just happy because I know what he can do. He knows how I play football and how I can help this club.
“I hope me and the whole team can play really good football for Daniel. The football he likes to play really suits me.
“England is an amazing football country,” he said. “Every player wants to play in England and now I have a chance.
“For every player it’s amazing to play football here, and I just want to start as soon as I can.”
