Norwich City star Emi Buendia has been nominated for the Premier League Player of the Month award for December, which is now put to a public vote.
The Argentine only featured briefly as a substitute during the first two games of the month, after some sloppy performances saw him benched by Daniel Farke, but he has responded to that situation in superb style.
The nomination for the award, sponsored by EA Sports, points out: "Buendia created 29 chances for his Norwich City team-mates, the most by any player in a single month in the Premier League since Opta started recording such data, and that included two assists."
Buendia has seven assists to his name from 21 games in the top flight so far this season but has been in superb form recently, leaving Canaries fans to wonder how long the club will be able to hang on to the former Real Madrid trainee.
He is nominated alongside Liverpool right-back Trent Alexander-Arnold, Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin, Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne, Watford goalkeeper Ben Foster, Southampton's top scorer Danny Ings, Wolves attacker Adama Traore and Leicester star Jamie Vardy.
The public vote is now open on the EA Sports website until 6pm on Monday, with the votes to be combined with those of the 20 club captains and a panel of football experts to determine the winner.
Canaries striker Teemu Pukki won the divisional Player of the Month award for August but Buendia's award is particularly impressive given that Norwich currently sit bottom of the table, seven points from safety and with just one win from 16 games - emphasising his personal contribution.
