The updated Premier League statistics make for positive reading for a number of Norwich City's key operators with six games of the season completed.

City goalkeeper Tim Krul has boasted impressive figures in the latest statistical charts, ranking second in the saves made column on the official Premier League website ahead of some of the division's biggest hitters.

Krul is joined by some esteemed company, with Arsenal's goalkeeper Bernd Leno leading the way, making 29 saves from the opening six top-flight fixtures.

The Dutchman is two saves behind him proving his contribution to a fledgeling back-line has been instrumental in City's mission to retain their status in the top flight to date. Krul's position was under the spotlight in the summer, with the Canaries' opting to strengthen by recruiting Schalke goalkeeper Ralf Fahrmann on loan.

Many supporters expected the German goalkeeper to claim the starting berth but City boss Daniel Farke has rewarded Krul for an impressive pre-season campaign by providing the 31-year-old with a vote of confidence this season.

Statistically, it appears the Dutch international has repaid that faith with the level of his performances between the posts. Krul also ranks joint first alongside Saturday's opposite number Vicente Guiata of Crystal Palace on punches, with the pair recording five each.

The caveat of these statistics is that Krul has conceded the second most amount of goals in the division trailing only Watford keeper Ben Foster with 18 goals conceded. Additionally, he is yet to record a clean sheet.

Norwich's defence has a depleted look to it currently given the extensive list of injured players currently occupying the treatments rooms at Colney.

A major protagonist of City's back-line is England U21 international Ben Godfrey, who currently finds himself in second position for headed clearances. Godfrey trails Sheffield United's John Egan and is equal to Aston Villa defender Tyrone Mings on 22.

His aerial dominance proved critical to Norwich overcoming champions Manchester City at Carrow Road two weeks ago.

Elsewhere, Finnish talisman Teemu Pukki is still flirting with the summit of the league's top goal-scorers chart with six goals in as many games placing him alongside last season's golden boot winner Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and behind only Chelsea's Tammy Abraham (7) and Manchester City's Sergio Aguero (8).

Emi Buendia has mentioned his aspirations to represent Argentina on the international stage and he joins Spain ace David Silva with four assists, trailing another Manchester City star, playmaker Kevin de Bruyne, who leads the way with seven.

The key for Farke's men now is to capitalise on these numbers and translate them into points on the board. City currently sits 16th in the table after six games.
