TEAM NEWS: Triple injury boost for Canaries ahead of Swansea City test

Todd Cantwell, Ivo Pinto and Louis Thompson are all fit and available for selection for Norwich City’s Championship test against Swansea City at Carrow Road on Friday night.
Cantwell and Pinto both missed the 3-1 league win at Millwall but have trained in the last few days while fit-again midfielder Thompson is also back in the mix after his knee injury as he looks to feature the other side of the upcoming international break.
“Good news in general,” said Farke. “Ivo was able to train all week and he is available. Todd was back in team training as well and has improved each day so we must make a late decision if he is ready to go. At least he is available. The positive thing is we don’t have to force anything.
“Also Louis Thompson was able to return to training this week. It will be a bit longer yet but by the other side of the international break I expect him to be a topic for the first team.
“All the guys (at Millwall) are available and ready to go.”
The City chief named an unchanged starting line up for the Lions’ victory, but has Alex Tettey, Mario Vrancic, Moritz Leitner and Timm Klose all back and available after recent injury lay-offs.
“It has been competitive in training this week,” said Farke. “That is the situation you want. Moritz was out three and a half months. Alex not much different with his injuries and Timm. Only Mario really was out for a short period. Sometimes if the team is not going well you are tempted to throw them back in after one training session.
“It is a better way if you are not forced to do this. Then it is not so easy for me because they are of course keen to be back in the team. It is good to have these options but you have to be fair and honest and if others come in and deliver good results then it is not really a case you must bring back someone who was good a few months ago.
“There is lots of competition. You don’t just press a button and come back in. You have to handle it but I feel there is a good togetherness.”
Carlton Morris (ankle) is a longer term absentee.
City can extend their two-point lead at the top of the Championship if they get the better of the Swans in Friday’s Carrow Road televised fixture.
Former Canaries’ left-back Martin Olsson is out for the season for the Welsh club, after Achilles surgery in December, and midfielder Leroy Fer is doubtful with a hamstring problem.
