A three-year deal between Norwich City Football Club and property developers was unveiled last night in a move that will see Carrow Road host seminars for supporters about buying holiday homes overseas.

The new partnership - called Canaries International Properties - will see the club link with Norwich-based worldwide2ndhomes, Villas Abroad and Cornerstoneworldwide.

The deal is expected to generate Norwich City a five-figure sum each year and mirrors similar property developer-football club partnerships operated by the likes of West Ham, Aston Villa, Bolton and Newcastle United.

It is also the latest in a line of affinity products offered by the club, including the Canary Account, Canary Financial Advice Service, Travel Norwich City, Npower Canary Energy, RAC Motor Breakdown Cover, the Canary Mastercard and Canary Corporate Insurance.

Last year the club received more than £400,000 from its brand affinity partnerships.

Will Hoy, Norwich City's brand marketing manager said: “This is a new deal which broadens the club's affinity partnerships, offering fans great deals on investment homes abroad or buying a second home outside of the UK.

“As with our other affinity partnerships, supporters can get a great deal through recognised experts, while at the same time helping to raise much-needed extra cash for the club.

“Supporters interested should attend one of the seminars to get a flavour of what is on offer.”

Chris Hall, international property specialist and former president of the National Association of Estate Agents, said: “The key to the offering is accountability - we are local and we are not a here today gone tomorrow 'show' that hires a room and leaves buyers in the wilderness.”

He added: “As my father, like his father I am a lifelong supporter and I am delighted that we have found yet another great way for me to support my club.”

The first presentation evening will take place in Carrow Road's Gunn Club next Tuesday at 6.45pm.

Sky Sports presenter and City supporter Simon Thomas is due to attend and will deliver a short presentation introducing one of CIP's new overseas property partners - The Village, a gated community being built near Estepona in southern Spain.
