Norwich City will compete in the FA Cup quarter-finals for the first time since 1992 – and will host either Manchester United or Derby County.

The Canaries fought back to draw 1-1 away to Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur on Wednesday night, in front of a superb 9,000 travelling supporters.

After a tired extra-time period the fifth round tie went to penalties and it was Tim Krul saving two penalties to earn a 3-2 shootout success, with Adam Idah, Marco Stiepermann and Todd Cantwell scoring their spot-kicks.

The draw for the quarter-finals was made during extra-time and it's Championship side Derby or top-flight giants United who will be heading to Carrow Road on the weekend of March 21-22.

That will mean a Premier League home clash with Everton will be rescheduled, with Derby and United playing on Thursday night at Pride Park.

The victory has earned £360,000 in prize money, with £720,000 up for grabs in the quarters - when the Canaries will try to seal a fourth semi-final in the club's history, and just the second visit to Wembley since the national stadium was rebuilt.

The last time City were in the quarter-finals, in 1992, a 0-0 draw away to Southampton was followed up by a 2-1 home win thanks to goals from Rob Newman and Chris Sutton in the replay.

However, Dave Stringer's side went on to lose 1-0 to second-tier Sunderland in the semi-final at Hillsborough, missing out on the club's first final, which would have been against Liverpool.
