Ben Godfrey is in the sights of Premier League duo Fulham and Everton.

Football Insider claim on Monday morning the Cottagers have made contact as they look to bolster their bid for Premier League survival, following promotion last season via the Championship play-off final.

Scott Parker is in the market for central defensive reinforcements after watching his side ship seven goals in their opening two top flight games.

Earlier on Monday, the Athletic’s David Ornstein included Godfrey’s name on a potential Everton watch list. The Premier League joint leaders have reportedly targeted a central defensive signing ahead of next month’s deadline but have so far failed to agree a loan move with Chelsea for Fikayo Tomori.

Godfrey and Barcelona’s Jean-Clair Todibo are believed ‘to be among the possibilities’ should Toffees’ chief Carlo Ancelotti decide he still needs a defensive addition.

The 22-year-old City prospect has started all three of Norwich’s Championship games this new season but along with the rest of the club’s best young talent has been routinely touted with a Carrow Road exit since relegation.

The England Under-21 international was linked with clubs in Italy, Germany and France over the past summer, with only last week Rennes mooted with interest.

Godfrey is under contract at Norwich until 2023, with an additional one year option, after signing a longer term deal in July 2019.

City have brought in Ben Gibson on a season long loan from Burnley, while Grant Hanley is back in full team training following hamstring surgery. Swiss international Timm Klose is yet to make a matchday squad this season.

Meanwhile, Barca’s pursuit of Max Aarons appears to be over with the Catalans poised to announce the signing of Ajax right back Sergino Dest in the next 24 hours.

Dest’s representatives have travelled to Spain on Monday to finalise a €23m move and a five year deal.

That prompted the Daily Mail to report Bayern Munich could now look to revive their original interrest in Aarons after missing out on Dest.

Aarons continues to be linked with a Carrow Road move ahead of the October 5 deadline for overseas transfers from English clubs, with the Daily Mail also claiming over the weekend AC Milan and Roma are monitoring the right back.
