Norwich City transfer rumours: Canaries need to up the ante to seal Marvin Ducksch deal

Norwich City face stiff competition from the Bundesliga to land St Pauli striker Marvin Ducksch.
The 24-year-old hitman is on the Canaries’ transfer radar after finishing top scorer in Bundesliga Two in Holstein Kiel’s run to the promotion play-offs.
Ducksch was unable to add to his 18 goals earlier this week in a 4-1 aggregate defeat to Wolfsburg but Ducksch is now a hot property as he approaches the final year of his current deal with the Hamburg-based club.
The Hamburger Morgenpost paper claimed on Thursday Ducksch, who they value at around two to three million euros, has already told St Pauli he wants to leave, with sporting director Uwe Stöver set for talks with Ducksch’s advisors.
“As planned and discussed, we will meet with him in a timely manner and discuss things internally,” Stöver is quoted in the paper.
Daniel Farke worked with Ducksch at Borussia Dortmund but the frontman’s prolific end to the season appears set to attract suitors from the German top flight, with the 24-year-old reportedly now favouring that option for his next career move.
The Canaries have prioritised goals in their close season transfer planning, with the future of Nelson Oliveira up in the air beyond the summer.
Dennis Srbeny is the only other recognised senior striker on the books at Carrow Road, following his move from the German third tier in January, although Shrewsbury loanee Carlton Morris is poised to return to the club after Sunday’s League One play-off final.
