Benfica playmaker Filip Krovinovic is heading to England, according to reports in Portugal, with the Canaries leading the chase.
The 23-year-old has been touted with a season long loan move to Carrow Road over recent days, although Championship club West Brom emerged as a potential alternative last weekend.
Now Portuguese sports newspaper, A Bola, claim a possible loan switch to Vitória Guimarães is off the table with Benfica clear the Croatian Under-21 international will play next season in England.
Benfica want game time for Krovinovic who is back on the comeback trail after recovering from a long term knee injury. The right-footed attacker made 12 appearances in an injury-disrupted season for Benfica, but was behind the likes of teenage sensation João Félix at the Lisbon club.
Krovinovic has reportedly indicated he is open to a loan move as he looks to force his way into Croatia's Euro2020 plans.
Norwich have been linked with a number of attacking midfield options ahead of their return to the Premier League.
Sonny Kittel claimed he opted for Hamburg over a possible Carrow Road move while Motherwell youngster David Turnbull had talks before opting to join Celtic in a move that has now collapsed.
City have so brought in Manchester City youngster Patrick Roberts on a season long loan and Swiss international Josip Drmic will officially join the club next week.
