Prolific West Brom striker Jay Rodriguez is set to leave the Baggies - and Norwich are among a clutch of Premier League clubs linked with the frontman.

The Burnley Express claimed on Tuesday the Clarets face competition from top flight rivals Leicester City, Crystal Palace and Bournemouth, along with new boys City and Sheffield United.

Rodriguez notched 22 goals in 45 appearances for Albion last season, who missed out in the Championship play-offs, but could be available for an initial £5m, with a further £5m in potential add ons.

The Burnley Express report there is a release clause in the 29-year-old's contract which can be triggered before the middle of July. That was inserted 12 months ago after the Clarets reportedly had a £16m offer turned down for their former trainee, following the Baggies' relegation.

Rodriguez has two years left on his current Hawthorns deal, but with West Brom missing out on promotion and yet to appoint a permanent replacement for Darren Moore, departures appear likely this summer.

The experienced forward scored a brace against the Canaries in an early season 4-3 league win at Carrow Road and has previous top flight experience with Southampton.

LIKELIHOOD: Hardly a surprise to see both Norwich and Sheffield United linked with a striker who looks a cut above the Football League. Even if an initial £5m fee would seemingly represent an astute piece of business, Rodriguez's salary demands would have to be taken into account while the list of reported suitors also suggests this is a non starter.

Stuart Webber made it clear recently a similar financial package, to tempt Jordan Rhodes to return from Sheffield Wednesday, was out of the question and with Norwich looking at other options to provide competition for Teemu Pukki this is not a link that sets the pulse racing.
