Norwich City right back Max Aarons has already been linked with Champions League winners Bayern Munich this summer - now he is on the radar of runners-up PSG.

The big-spending Parisians are in the market for a right back and have been heavily touted with a move for Arsenal’s Hector Bellerin but French television football show, Telefoot, claim PSG sporting director Leonardo is ‘closely monitoring’ Aarons as a potential alternative.

The England Under-21 international is among a clutch of exciting young talent at Carrow Road who have been linked with moves away following the club’s Premier League relegation.

Sporting director Stuart Webber set a high bar for the Canaries’ prized assets in excess of £20m each at the end of the previous campaign, with Liverpool rebuffed in their cheeky offer for Jamal Lewis.

Aarons has long been linked to both Tottenham and Arsenal in this country following his breakthrough at Carrow Road during the club’s Championship title-winning season. But during the close season, German powerhouses Munich were reportedly weighing up a move for the youngster as back up to French international Benjamin Pavard.

Aarons signed a five year deal with City in July 2019, and his head coach Daniel Farke insisted only last week on the club’s tour of Germany he wants all his best players on board for the Championship return.

“We spoke after the season finished about this very topic,” said the City chief. “I told all of them there would be a lot of speculation and they would be linked to other clubs. Sometimes there is something in it, sometimes not. But I told him I will treat him no differently.

“They are our players, we need them. I said if it was down to me I wouldn’t sell them for £100m.

“But I am not naive, the club may have to make decisions in the best interests of the club, but if it was down to me I wouldn’t sell. So the relationship with them is good.

“When I think of the rumours around Max, Ben and Todd as well it is not a topic within the group between us.”

Meanwhile French football site, FootMercato.net, suggest Valenciennes’ 16-year-old left back Byani Mpatalama is being tracked by clubs in England that include the Canaries.

Leicester City and Birmingham have also been linked with the youngster who is reportedly entering the final year of his current deal at the Ligue 2 club and featured in the national under-19 league last season.

Norwich recruited new close season signing Melvin Sitti from the same division when he joined the club from Sochaux.
