Young Norwich City goalkeeper Aston Oxborough failed to make the FA Cup first round proper, with his Wealdstone side being beaten 2-0 in a replay against Maidenhead United.
A win for the on-loan 'keeper would have set up a tasty home encounter against League One side Rotherham United, but a goal in either half ensured it would be the visitors who progressed to the next round.
Chesterfield also failed to advance in the competition, with City forward Anthony Spyrou starting the game against Wrexham.
Spyrou found himself in a number of good positions but failed to capitalise before being replaced on the 71st minute. The Spireites were eventually beaten 1-0 at the Racecourse Ground.
In League One, left-back James Husband featured in Blackpool's 1-1 draw with Wycombe Wanderers at Bloomfield Road.
He went close to scoring shortly before the visitors opener and was solid in defence. Fellow City loanee Rocky Bushiri was an unused substitute.
Striker Carlton Morris travels to Suffolk this evening, with Rotherham United facing Ipswich Town at Portman Road.
Mason Bloomfield continued to get minutes for Crawley Town, as they earned a gutsy point against Newport County.
Bloomfield played the entirety of the fixture as Gabriele Ciofi's men moved to within four points of the playoffs in League Two.
Elsewhere, Diallang Jaiyesimi was a substitute in Swindon Town's 1-0 victory over struggling Stevenage.
The winger is slowly returning to the fold after an ankle injury which has prevented him getting game time so far this season. He looked lively when coming on, creating havoc on a number of occasions.
