Both Norwich City youngsters Adam Idah and Simon Power featured as Republic of Ireland Under-21s ground out a 0-0 draw against Mexico at the Toulon Tournament on Thursday evening.

Power was handed his first start but was withdrawn at the break to be replaced by Adam Connolly. Idah had a good chance to open the scoring in the 19th minute but dragged a left-footed shot wide and the 18-year-old was withdrawn in the 83rd minute.

The result means Ireland have a good chance of progressing through to the semi-finals if they can beat Bahrain on Sunday whilst Mexico will take on China. Ireland sit top of Group C on goal difference with Mexico on four points.

Idah scored two penalties in Ireland's first game at the tournament, which saw them beat China 4-1 whilst Power came on as a late substitute.

Idah has been prolific at youth level for his country having racked up four goals in his first three appearances at under-21 level.
