Norwich City's injury problems took another turn for the worse today with winger Lee Croft likely to be sidelined for four to six weeks.

Norwich City's injury problems took another turn for the worse today with winger Lee Croft likely to be sidelined for four to six weeks.

Manager Peter Grant revealed that Croft had suffered an ankle injury in Saturday's crushing 5-0 defeat at Stoke but played on for the last 15 minutes because City were already down to 10 men.

Grant said: “Crofty is out. He got a bad tackle and he has rolled his ankle. It looks as if it could be a bit of a problem and he'll be out for a little while.

“I am no physiotherapist but the way they are talking it could be four to six weeks.”

The Canaries' attacking options look severely limited with Darren Huckerby (back injury), and Robert Earnshaw (rib) both rated 70-30 against being fit for tomorrow night's Championship match against Colchester United at Carrow Road.

Midfielder Youssef Safri is, however, expected to be fit. Safri was set to train again today after being sidelined by a groin injury.

Scotland international Paul Gallacher will start tomorrow's match in goal because of a one-match ban for the on-loan Jamie Ashdown following his red card at Stoke.

Grant's options up front are further limited because Paul McVeigh is still suspended. McVeigh completes a three-match ban tomorrow night after his sending off in the last home match against Cardiff.
