Norwich City striker Jamie Cureton admitted missed chances cost his side any claim to points at the Ricoh Arena.

Cureton himself was blameless, as his team-mates passed up several good opportunities to find the net, while last season's leading scorer could only look on - just like the travelling fans.

Lee Croft, Arturo Lupoli and Omar Koroma missed the best chances for a City side that outplayed the Sky Blues but just simply could net put the ball in the net, particularly in the second period in front of the away end.

"We have to put the chances away," he said. "It's the sharp end and it's what gets you the points. When you create chances, you have to take more than you're missing and that's what changes games. We missed too many last year and that's why we had a bad season. We've got to stamp that out early on."

Cureton had a good game alongside new strike partner Lupoli and was pleased with how a relationship had blossomed between the two.

"It's gone okay," he said. "We've only played probably 45 minutes together, and it was a bit different with two little lads, but I thought we popped it around quite well, short and sharp, and creating chances and we were pretty happy with the game."
