City skipper Adam Drury has taken the first steps on the road to recovery from an ankle injury.

The Canaries confirmed yesterday that the 28-year-old defender had undergone his “tidy-up” operation on his ankle, as planned.

It was said originally that Drury would be out for two to three weeks.

Otherwise, manager Nigel Worthington reported that the rest of his injury list was “as you were”, with Darren Huckerby, Ian Henderson and Joe Lewis his current casualties.

The big question for City fans following their team's alarming slide down the table is whether star forward Darren Huckerby will be able to return ahead of schedule for Sunday's Sky TV game at home Burnley.

Huckerby, in sparkling form at the start of the season, has been sidelined since hobbling off against his old club at Coventry on September 9, and has missed the last three league games, in which City have taken just one point.

He is currently halfway through what was originally a four-week rehabilitation programme.
