In-form Canaries striker Robert Earnshaw is looking to carry on his impressive scoring form when he lines up for Wales against Liechtenstein tonight.

Earnshaw finally broke his goal duck under the John Toshack regime by netting in the 3-1 European Championship triumph over Cyprus last month.

And having ended his two-year scoring hoodoo for Wales, Earnshaw is keen to stamp his mark at international level again in the friendly at Wrexham's Racecourse Ground, with clubmate Carl Robinson also in the starting line-up.

Earnshaw's place in Toshack's team had come into question and he only earned a last-minute reprieve for the game against the Cypriots.

But if he starts scoring for his country again regularly, Earnshaw will have Ian Rush's 28-goal Wales record on the horizon. He is already almost halfway there on 12 and could fill his boots against Liechtenstein.

Reflecting upon his winner at West Bromwich Albion and current goal run, Earnshaw said: “I just want to score and others can make things or records and figures. But what I want, more than anything, is for my goals to be winning goals, which is why I enjoyed the West Brom one.

“I did it against Sunderland the previous week, I've done it for Wales against a team like Germany and I want to keep on doing it.

“I'm fully aware that, prior to Cyprus, I had gone two years without scoring for Wales, but I can honestly say it didn't worry me.

“Of course it was nice to be back on target in the last game and hopefully I can carry on that form against Liechtenstein and the coming Euro games beyond that.

“But the key for me, and I've always said this, is to be playing on a regular basis.

“If I can become a first-choice regular, I'm confident I can score goals regularly again for Wales.”
