England's top woman footballers are making a return visit to Carrow Road to play an international friendly match.
Hope Powell's side will be taking on Iceland on the evening of Thursday, March 9 in fixture that will provide them with a chance to fine-tune their preparations for a crucial World Cup qualifier against France later in the month.
Having secured maximum points from their first three qualifiers away to Austria, Hungary and Holland, England will be looking to continue their fine run of form as they look to qualify for the 2007 FIFA Women's World Cup in China.
They last played at Carrow Road in July 2002 when 8,034 supporters saw the hosts slip to a narrow 1-0 defeat against Nigeria - and Powell is hoping for another big turn-out this time around.
“The players get a huge buzz out of playing in front of large crowds, and it was a great atmosphere against Nigeria, although sadly the result wasn't what we wanted,” she said.
“The game at Carrow Road is our first home fixture since last summer's European Championships, and I hope that as many football fans as possible come to cheer us on in a very important game for the side.”
Tickets for the game are now on sale, priced £5 for adults and £2.50 for concessions. Tickets can be purchased from the Norwich City ticket office or by calling the ticket hotline on 0870 444 1902.
Special group discounts are available for groups of over 15, with tickets costing just £1 per person.
Norwich City chief executive Neil Doncaster, commented: “Norwich City are delighted that the FA have chosen us to host yet another international fixture. We very much hope that people come along and support the team in what is an important match ahead of a World Cup qualifying campaign.”
