Dickson Etuhu is planning to take his frustrations out on Hull this afternoon in an effort to win back some friends among the Canaries faithful.
The City midfielder says he has endured a "horrible" week in the wake of Sunday's derby day embarrassment at Ipswich - and says the fans need to see a show of strength to wipe away the memory of the 3-1 defeat.
"It's definitely a chance to win back some of the fans," said Etuhu. "It's something we have to do after that performance on Sunday, which was just not good enough.
"It was embarrassing, we just shouldn't have lost to them. There are loads of reasons why we did but I am not going to stick on that and try and figure that out - we have to move on and fix what went wrong."
Etuhu insists that it's not only the fans that have suffered the derby day blues - but says they can be eased with three points this afternoon.
"It's been horrible, it is still in the back of my mind and hopefully the rest of the boys are thinking the same as I am," he said.
"I just want to go and win and take it from there because we need to take our frustrations out on them and get the three points and win comfortably."
To do that, City will have to score more than one goal in a match for the first time under Grant - and that means the midfield lending some much-needed support to leading scorer Robert Earnshaw, who has scored 11 of City's 24 goals this season.
"It doesn't matter who gets goals a long as we win, but we should get more goals because we are good enough to get goals," said Etuhu.
"Safri is good, he has a great shot, Carl Robinson as well and I know I should shoot a lot more, that is definitely something I should do more.
"We have a good enough midfield to score more goals - Darren Huckerby and when Luke Chadwick when he is fit he will get a few. When Lee Croft is back and playing he should get a few.
"So, yes, we should get more goals and we know it, so we are going to have to try and help Earnie out more - we are just relying on him a lot."
