Farke insists Premier League survival would top Championship title ‘sensation’

Daniel Farke admits plotting a ‘miracle’ Premier League escape would top the ‘sensational’ Championship title win.
Norwich City go into Saturday's crunch basement battle against Bournemouth eight points from safety with games running out.
Farke knows the headline figures make desperate reading, after a 4-0 loss at Manchester United made it one league win in 17, but the City head coach is blocking out the noise.
"I don't sit there every day doing mathematical exercises. If we don't get close to 40 points we won't have a chance," he said. "We can't influence the other results. We know we have to come as close as we can to 40 points to stay in this league.
"I can't paint or bake results. I can concentrate on working with my lads on some good performances and then hopefully convert these into good results.
"I know it is disappointing for our supporters and it says a lot how they cheered us at the end (of the Manchester United game). It was a sensation to win the Championship title last season and then with our injuries and not spending any money it would be a miracle to stay in this league. We said this from the very start.
"If I could guarantee we could stay in this league that would not be a miracle. We'll stick to our way, to our plans. There is no other option."
Farke wants more signings this month, following the arrivals of Slovakian international midfielder Ondrej Duda and Lukas Rupp. Dennis Srbeny and Patrick Roberts, meanwhile, have departed since the transfer window opened as the City chief tries to refresh his squad.
"We can't do anything stupid but we need options and we will try," he said. "We have to be a bit creative. We have to make the maximum out of this season. That is why a loan does not have the financial risk. If it works out for us it helps us and if not it isn't a risk, but we would also want to try and look at permanent deals.
"From our side if there is another option to bring a player in we have to be awake and we will hold talks during this window.
"Dennis and Patrick had options to consider and it is also the same for us. I trust my group but just 11 are allowed to play and it is perhaps inevitable two or three of the group will not always be in the best position possible."
