Former Norwich City skipper Ivo Pinto has made another move but will be staying in Portugal this season, after signing on loan for one of his former clubs, Rio Ave.
The Portuguese right-back was a trainee at Boavista and made one senior appearance for Porto but after a couple of loan stints joined Rio Ave in 2012.
He was again on loan though so made the unusual move to Romania with Cluj in 2013, which worked out for him, making six appearances in the Champions League and earning a move to Dinamo Zagreb a year later.
After three successive Croatian titles and regular European action Pinto joined Norwich for around £2.5million in January 2016 and made 95 appearances before being released at the end of the 2018-19 season.
Pinto joined Zagreb again but spent the second half of last season playing regularly in the Portuguese top flight for Famalicao - who finished just a point behind Rio Ave, who claimed the final Europa League qualification spot.
Posting on his Instagram account, the 30-year-old said: “Life is made of challenges and I propose myself to a high responsibility, motivated by the ambition to win!
“Happy to be part of this project and the opportunity to help the @RioAvefcon in your journey in national and international events! Thank you for your trust! Let’s go.”
