Norwich City boss Peter Grant today ruled out any further loan signings ahead of today's deadline.

Norwich City boss Peter Grant today ruled out any further loan signings ahead of today's deadline.

The Canaries have until 5pm tonight to add to their squad for the last time before the January transfer window, but at this morning's Colney press conference, Grant confirmed there would be no new arrivals and he would go with his current players until then.

He said he was disappointed that goalkeeper Jamie Ashdown had returned to Portsmouth after a month at Carrow Road.

Grant said: "Harry Redknapp had agreed to extend his loan but the goalkeeping coach maybe thought differently and spoke to Jamie and put a doubt in Jamie's mind.

"I phoned Harry, and to say I was disappointed was an under-statement. Jamie was definitely someone I would have looked at taking on permanently when the finances would have been able to dictate that."

Keeper Lee Camp, on loan from Derby, will be on the bench against Hull on Saturday but his three month stay expires after the home game against Sheffield Wednesday on December 9.

Joe Lewis, back in training after suffering a bang on the head and going to hospital during a trial spell at Bury, will then resume the No 2 keeper role.

Defender Gary Doherty is the main doubt for the Hull game with an ankle injury picked up in the

3-1 defeat at Ipswich and is rated 50-50 to play, which could mean a return to defence for 37-year-old Dion Dublin.
