New Norwich City manager Peter Grant held his first Press conference this morning with his sights set firmly on a return to the Premiership.

Grant has signed a three-and-a-half year contract at Carrow Road after being the unanimous choice of the Canaries' board, chief executive Neil Doncaster confirming that Grant was the only person offered the job out of six interviewed.

The former Scotland international confirmed that he would be working with the current coaching staff of assistant manager Doug Livermore and first team coach Martin Hunter.

“I'll definitely be starting with Martin and Doug, there's no doubt about that. I've seen it so many times that managers come and change everything and a lot of very good people get let go. I want to make sure that everyone here will be given a chance.

“Martin's a football man, an intelligent man and a very, very good coach.”

Asked if promotion to the Premiership was still a possibility this season, he added: “I would not be sitting here if I didn't think so.”

City revealed that they recruited former manager Dave Stringer to help with the selection process.
