Plymouth boss Ian Holloway has rubbished speculation linking him with the vacant Norwich City job and pledged his future to the Pilgrims.

According to reports in two leading Sunday newspapers, Holloway is a target for both Norwich and Leicester City, but the Bristolian insisted the rumours were “a right load of old rubbish”.

Holloway said he was unaware of any approach from Norwich, but believed it was a compliment to the club and the players that his name had been touted as a frontrunner for a managerial position with one of Argyle's Championship rivals.

But Holloway insisted he was not interested in a switch to East Anglia and instead was “fully focused on the job I have here at Plymouth Argyle Football Club”.

He told Herald Sport in Plymouth: “I haven't heard a word from Norwich and all this kind of speculation is both news to me and entirely unwanted.

“It's not a surprise, because whenever your team is doing well, as mine is, and there is a vacancy elsewhere, your name seems to be inevitably linked.

“Yes, it's a feather in our club's cap that my name is on somebody's list, but I'm not interested in the post.

“I'm fully focused on the job I have here at Plymouth Argyle.”
