Huckerby hoping it's lucky 13

City talisman Darren Huckerby is hoping they can pull off the double at Cardiff City tomorrow (3pm) - their first away win this year and also their first win in that green kit.

Norwich's travel sickness has extended to eight games without a win in 2006 and they have played 12 games in the two-tone green kit since it was introduced in the summer of 2004, yet managed only eight defeats and four draws.

It will also be the 13th and final time that the green kit is worn by the players before a new away strip is brought in ready for next season.

And although Huckerby will be glad to see the back of it, he was quick to dismiss the green strip as the root of all evil - and said the simple fact was City hadn't been good enough on their travels.

“It's not a great statistic, to be fair, but I don't think that it's down to the kit,” said Huckerby, who like the rest of the squad trained in the green kit ahead of the trip to Ninian Park in order to familiarise themselves with the change in colour.

“I think it's down to us not playing well enough away from home,” he added.

The green kit also holds no superstitions for Huckerby.

He added: “I think we'll be glad to get rid of it, but I don't think that it makes a difference and as I'm not superstitious, it doesn't really bother me what kit I wear.”

If, as Huckerby hopes, the Canaries can win their remaining two fixtures against Cardiff and Wolves - and if Luton, who are in ninth spot, slip up - there is a possibility Norwich can finish in seventh spot, thereby applying a slightly better finish to what has been a truly dismal season.
