Nigel Worthington has urged his players to go out on a winning note and book seventh place in the final Coca-Cola Championship table.
City boss Nigel Worthington today urged his players to go out on a winning note and book seventh place in the final Coca-Cola Championship table.
Victory over Wolves at Carrow Road on Sunday (1.30pm) would leave the Canaries just one place short of the play-offs, albeit many points adrift.
Said Worthington: “The game is a nice little marker for me, the last game of the season, on where we want to finish. Do we want to finish seventh or eighth, ninth or tenth? I want to finish in seventh place.”
Worthington confirmed that Craig Fleming would play in the centre of defence, with Jason Shackell absent after an ankle operation.
It leaves a vacancy for either Jürgen Colin or Rossi Jarvis to fill in at right-back. Striker Leon McKenzie would definitely be in the squad, he said.
On-loan Fulham defender Zesh Rehman could also be in the squad, but will be returning to the London club at the end of the season.
The future of City's other loan player, striker Jonatan Johansson, would be decided after the end of the season, with the Charlton man out of contract.
Goalkeeper Paul Gallacher, set to make his fourth successive appearance in place in the injured Robert Green, has yet to reach a decision on whether to sign a new deal with the Canaries.
