The 23-year-old Canadian has already ticked a few career boxes, but says there is more to come - including a trip to Brazil in four years' time.

Canada haven't qualified for the World Cup finals since 1986, and Jackson - the current Canadian Player of the Year - wants to be in the squad when the campaign begins in 2012.

“I'm looking to be in the frame,” said Jackson, who is in Canada for friendlies against Peru tomorrow and Honduras on Tuesday.

“It's important for me in terms of developing and becoming a better player. And I'm going to be at the peak of my career around then. It's definitely an exciting time.”

Canada are currently ranked 101st in the world - and ninth in CONCACAF, which covers North America, Central America and the Caribbean.

“I guess the rankings are fair right now, based on our results over the last year or so,” he said. “But there's definitely room for improvement in the squad. There's intentions of improving and improving those rankings.”

Jackson's journey has taken him from his birthplace in Jamaica, to Ontario and now to Norwich.

““When I look back on where I started from and where I am today I feel good knowing that the goal and dream I started out with when I was young is being accomplished,” he said. “But, obviously, there's loads more for me to achieve.

“I was lucky that there have been a few different people helping me out. Ed Abrook, who was my agent, funded my first trip to England for a trial with Coventry. And I have loads of family that have been very influential. Some players, when they come over to Europe, don't have that, and I've been blessed with that. They've helped me along massively.”
