Crystal Palace striker Andy Johnson has got the Canaries in his sights again after making a good recovery from the injury that has kept him on the sidelines for the previous two games.

The Eagles' top scorer sustained a badly gashed thigh during the 0-0 draw at Sheffield Wednesday earlier this month and was forced to sit out his team's fixtures against Cardiff and Millwall as a result.

But he should be fit for Saturday's clash with City at Selhurst Park - and will be looking to pile more misery on Nigel Worthington's side after playing a key role in the previous three meetings between the two clubs.

Johnson scored Palace's equaliser as two newly-promoted outfits drew 1-1 in the opening fixture of last season's Premiership campaign and then popped up with a controversial late penalty to earn a share of the spoils in a memorable 3-3 draw in London.

Johnson took a theatrical tumble in the box to earn that crucial spot-kick and received a hot reception from City fans when Palace visited Carrow Road back in August. But that didn't prevent him from maintaining his superb strike-rate against the Canaries as he scored again in another 1-1 draw.

Manager Iain Dowie is keeping his cards close to his chest as far as Johnson's progress is concerned, but it would be a surprise if the 12-goal front-man didn't return at Clinton Morrison's experience on Saturday - while Finnish midfielder Aki Riihilahti is also in contention for a comeback after missing two games with a groin problem.

“Andrew is probably 50-50, and Aki is getting closer. He will have an outside chance,” said Dowie.
