Terry Postle, Norwich City's kit man for the past 12 years, has lost his job as the club's backroom staff clear-out continues.

Postle joins last week's casualties - assistant physiotherapist Peter Shaw, Academy physio Rod Dyer and under-14 coach Neil Adams - and nine members of the playing staff who were also shown the door.

There are believed to be at least two more backroom staff with whom severance deals have yet to be agreed, as manager Glenn Roeder carries out his threat to perform “major surgery” on the club this summer.

Postle, who followed the Canaries as a 10-year-old during the 1959 FA Cup run, worked as a steward and maintenance man for the club before former manager Gary Megson put him in charge of the kit in 1996. He has worked under seven first-team managers.

As well as looking after the shirts, shorts, socks, shin pads and other kit at Colney, long-esrving Postle has been a keen fund-raiser for the Friends of Norwich City Youth, who have contributed more than £300,000 to the club's Academy since 1996.

The Canaries officially confirmed Postle's departure last night.

“I would certainly pay tribute to Terry for the work he has done for the club for many seasons and wish him all the best for the future,” Roeder said.
