Peter Grant sees comparison between Norwich and Leeds as the two clubs battle against the tide in the lower reaches of the Championship.

Dennis Wise's Leeds team are bottom of the table with City seven points and seven places above them - unlikely positions given that both teams have recent experiences of the top flight.

“Leeds are a team that is similar to ourselves,” he said. “Big name, big expectations, a tough game because they had a fantastic result midweek in the derby.

“He has good experienced players he's brought in, guys who have been over the course. Playing at Leeds United has been no fun for a long while.

“It is a club with massive expectation, the same as ourselves in many respects.

“It is two teams who should be fighting at the other side of the table, no doubt about that, but to do that you have to be winning games of football and neither of us have been doing that anywhere near consistently enough.”

When the team met on the opening day of the season, both under different managers, City were unlucky to leave Elland Road empty-handed after a 1-0 defeat.

Since then, both teams have stumbled from one crisis to another and are now scrapping for anything they can get - and Grant is expecting nothing but a physical battle tomorrow.

“I think every game should be physical,” he said. “Every game has got to be competitive, you always get that in matches when teams have to win games of football.”

The Canaries, from being possible play-off contenders a couple of months ago, are now possible relegation candidates, although Grant believes all teams are involved in all sorts of fights.

“It is a relegation fight if you go out there and don't win games of football,” he said. “It is not a relegation battle as such but games you have to win. If you don't you will be relegated.”
