Leeds United have made an enquiry for Norwich City midfielder Emi Buendia, according to a national newspaper.
The Argentine has produced some impressive statistics during his debut Premier League campaign last season - with compatriot Marcelo Bielsa keen to bring the creative midfielder to Elland Road, according to the Daily Mail.
The report suggests that the Canaries value Buendia at around £25million - with Leeds also considering their options for the attacking midfield positions.
Bielsa’s men have also made an enquiry for Club Brugges winger Emmanuel Dennis and have bid for Jonathan David at Gent but the latter prefers a move to French side Lille. Brentford forward Ollie Watkins is also said to be a target.
City signed Buendia from Getafe in 2018 after scouting him during his loan spell with then Spanish second division side Cultural y Deportiva Leonesa.
Leeds were also reportedly tracking Buendia prior to his move to Carrow Road, although the Canaries swooped to sign the 23-year-old.
The midfielder netted only one goal last season, but his creative output was bettered by merely a few creative talents - including Kevin De Bruyne.
Sky Sports claimed last month that La Liga powerhouses Valencia and Atletico Madrid were also courting the winger after some stand out displays despite City’s top flight struggles.
Buendia is one of a host of young talent City expect to be in-demand following their rapid individual progressions and performances at top-flight level.
Daniel Farke told club media on Friday that the Canaries would fight tooth and nail to retain their services - unless a big money offer arrived.
Speaking last month, Buendia reiterated his happiness at Carrow Road: “I am happy here. Since I came from Spain everyone helped me here since the beginning,” he said, speaking to Sky Sports. “I have a contract here and I hope the club, the team and the fans get back to the Premier league as soon as possible.
