MK Dons U18s 2, Norwich U18s 3

A brace from midfielder Matt Ball and a Reece Hall-Johnson strike saw the Under-18s register a 3-2 win away to MK Dons on Saturday.

In a game with good chances for both sides, the Canaries were pegged back twice.

But Ball’s second strike proved decisive in claiming the three Premier Academy League points.

Hall-Johnson had put the Canaries ahead only for the home side to equalise mid-way though the first half.

However, City responded straight away through Ball to regain the advantage and go into a 2-1 lead at half-time.

In the second half, the Dons got back on level terms again and with chances being created by both sides the game could have gone either way.

But it was the visitors who proved more clinical in the final third, and Ball struck again for his second goal of the game and, crucually, the Canaries’ winner.

• Norwich City: Matthews, Norman, Barker, Toffolo, Wyatt; McGeehan (John Murphy, 85), Dobbs (Kelly, 70), Florence, Ball; Drmola (Jacob Murphy, 46), Hall-Johnson. Subs not used: Clunan, Wilton.
