Ahead of Norwich City’s trip to Merseyside, we asked Everton fan Mark Boggis for his thoughts on the game...

What have you made of the season so far?

As the league table shows, it has pretty much been a mixed bag. There has been a real lack of consistency and some disappointing results, particularly away, which have placed the manager under intense pressure. But being just three points off fifth following victory last time out, the chance to build some momentum with back-to-back wins makes this a crucial encounter.

Results have steadied recently - is Marco Silva's job safe?

Before the Southampton game Silva was fighting for his job. With the team securing a place in the EFL Cup quarter-finals, followed by a first away league win of the season, it has bought him some breathing space. Silva has not been helped by VAR in a couple of games, particularly the Brighton match - a decision the Premier League later acknowledged was incorrect. Having himself said that the technology could start costing managers their jobs, Silva needs to ensure his staff and players are consistently following the Blues motto of Nil Satis Nisi Optimum (Nothing but the best is good enough)!

Richarlison seems to be the key player, is that a fair assumption?

Richarlison scored 20 goals last season for Everton and Brazil after being accused of "ruining the transfer window" according to certain pundits. A Silva signing, his form is crucial - and ultimately I believe his goals and performances will dictate what happens to the manager. Tasked with improving his English by Silva, Richarlison has been interacting with Evertonians on Twitter recently. Asked on Wednesday "how many he was gonna score this weekend", he said: "I need to score" ahead of the Canaries clash... perhaps it's best to just let the football do the talking!

Who else has impressed so far this season?

Lucas Digne has been the stand-out player once more, with his assists, goals and more recently the captaincy proving the growing influence he has on this side. In the past few league and cup games, Tom Davies and Mason Holgate have really stepped up and impressed with their performances at the heart of the upturn in form.

And who are you hoping to see more from?

Moise Kean. The 'wonderkid' arrived from the Old Lady, but his performances have not set Everton's Grand Old Lady at Goodison Park alight - as yet. After being dropped from the squad last time out for poor timekeeping he owes the fans, manager and his teammates. He has since vowed to make amends and after scoring twice for Italy U21s in midweek, he needs to produce on the pitch soon.

Are you wary of Norwich at all, in spite of their poor form?

Yes, of course. It is the Premier League and anything can happen. You look at the AFC Bournemouth draw a month ago, which followed three defeats, and at the time the manager admitted it was "important" for his team. With three defeats since then, this match is therefore equally important.

And finally, what is your prediction?

It will be closely contested, but I think home comforts will ensure a 2-1 Everton victory.
