Norwich City Under-21s sealed progress to the knockout stages of the EFL Trophy with a hugely impressive 5-0 win at Newport County on Tuesday night - and now you can watch highlights from the victory, including a hat-trick from Tyrese Omotoye.
The League Two leaders have had a busy start to the season, reaching the fourth round of the League Cup, so made 11 changes to their starting line-up but still included plenty of experience alongside four teenagers.
They ended up being embarrassed by the Canaries youngsters though, with striker Omotoye completing his hat-trick with a fine strike in the 75th minute, as David Wright’s development squad dominated with a host of chances.
Matthew Dennis put the icing on the cake with a spectacular strike just two minutes later and Josh Martin put the cherry on top with a penalty in the 83rd minute.
With Cheltenham being Plymouth 2-0 in the other game in Southern Group F - who Norwich had beaten 3-2 last month - it sets up a decider for top spot at Whaddon Road on Tuesday, November 10 as both teams are already through to the knockout stages.
The success came on a night when all the other invited category one academy teams were unable to win, with Fulham U21s losing 4-2 at Peterborough, West Brom U21s beaten 3-0 at Forest Green Rovers, Leicester U21s defeated 3-1 at Harrogate, Aston Villa U21s losing 3-0 at Fleetwood, Southampton U21s thumped 5-0 at Nothampton and a Wolves U21 team featuring former Canaries first teamers John Ruddy and Ryan Bennett held to a 1-1 draw at Bradford.
