Norwich City Championship fixtures 2017-18: Fans discuss tough looking start to the campaign

Norwich City fans have been digesting the fixtures for the new Championship season.
The full Sky Bet EFL fixtures have been released this morning, with City’s starting at Fulham on Saturday, August 5 before a first home league game against Sunderland on Saturday, August 12 and a Carrow Road clash with QPR on Tuesday, August 15.
In the last 10 seasons City have won just one of their opening day fixtures, winning 4-1 at Blackburn last season, and just four of them have been at home.
In total in those 10 seasons the Canaries have lost six, drawn three and won just that one game – with awful memories of a 5-0 defeat at Fulham in 2012 and the famous 7-1 thrashing handed out by Colchester in League One in 2009.
Norwich have not won at Craven Cottage in their last 10 attempts, a record that stretches back to New Year’s Day 1986, losing eight of those – including a horrendous 6-0 defeat on the final day of the 2004-05 season – and drawing the other two.
They were close to breaking that hex last season when leading 2-0 at half-time thanks to two Graham Dorrans penalties, to sit at the top of the Championship table, only to throw that away and draw two – the start of a wretched run of two wins in 12 matches which eventually cost Alex Neil his job.
