Norwich City have appointed former Huddersfield Town academy manager Steve Weaver to head up their development set-up at Colney.
Weaver replaces Richard Money, who left City’s category one academy by mutual consent in August.
City sporting director Stuart Webber worked with Weaver at Huddersfield, Wolves and Wrexham.
Weaver left the Terriers before the start of the season – with the Premier League club announcing at the weekend it was scrapping its academy from all levels below Under-18s, downgrading from category two to four status under the Premier League’s Elite Player Performance Plan.
It was Webber who appointed Weaver at Huddersfield and at the time said: “Steve brings vast experience of what it takes to develop young players to play at a first-team level at a vital time for our (Huddersfield’s) academy.
“He’s a man I know well from our time together at Wrexham and I believe his knowledge and methods will really add to the club.”
