Norwich City duo Daniel Farke and Stuart Webber not ruling out German player hunt

Daniel Farke and Stuart Webber are on the same page when it comes to Norwich City raiding the German transfer market this summer for new recruits.
New head coach Farke sealed his Carrow Road move from Borussia Dortmund II last week, while sporting director Webber has the inside track on German football after his time at Huddersfield working alongside David Wagner.
Both intend to pool that knowledge to boost City’s recruitment during the coming months.
“I think we would be stupid not to look at that country,” said Webber. “Daniel will have knowledge, we will have knowledge because we have a scouting department that works in that country as well, and I have spent a lot of time working in Germany over the last 18 months, two years.
“We would be remiss not to because there are some good players there and some good value.”
Farke, however, is not planning a major influx of German talent.
“Of course it is an advantage because I am very well-connected and I know very special details about the German market,” he said. “But it is not about if it is a German, English or Scottish player, it is the player who fits to Norwich in a certain situation.
“I know from the last six seasons, on four times we were in the Premier League, so we have had success in the past.
“We don’t have to just make something new for the sake of it, we have to figure out what is not quite working and what we need to come in and help us fulfil expectations.
“Eventually with German players, perhaps, but it is not me saying I will bring eight German players. That would be the wrong thing.”
