Norwich City top 100 appearances: David Phillips (77)
186 appearances/20 goals
David Phillips arrived from Coventry City for £550,000 in 1989 - a club record for the Canaries at the time.
He made an instant impression by scoring within the first three minutes of his debut as City beat Sheffield Wednesday 2-0 - Robert Fleck got the other goal.
Phillips, who formed a fine partnership down the left flank with fellow Welsh international Mark Bowen, was part of the Canaries side that finished third in the Premiership in the 1992/93 season.
He made a name for himself as a scorer of fine goals from long range whilst also being a very good crosser of the ball.
He left Carrow Road in the summer of 1993 to join Nottingham Forest after a contract dispute meaning he missed out on City’s Uefa Cup campaign.
Phillips did at least enjoy success at the City Ground, helping Forest to promotion in 1994.
