Fulham's prolific striker Ross McCormack is on Norwich City's transfer watch list.

McCormack is touted with a summer exit from Craven Cottage, with Norwich linked as a possible destination for the Scottish international who reportedly has a £12m release clause.

Nottingham Forest striker Britt Assombalonga was a rumoured £7m target for the Canaries earlier this week with Alex Neil looking to bolster his frontline.

Football web site, Here is The City, reported on Wednesday lunchtime Norwich are among a number of clubs that include fellow relegated Premier League rivals Aston Villa and Newcastle United, along with Burnley, who have made enquiries this summer but Fulham’s top brass is reportedly unwilling to drop their £15m asking price.

McCormack signed a new longer term deal at the Cottagers earlier this year, keeping him at the club until 2020, following firm interest in the January window from newly-promoted Middlesbrough.

The 29-year-old scored 23 goals in 51 appearances last season despite Fulham finishing fifth bottom in the Championship under former Watford chief Slavisa Jokanovic, who replaced Kit Symons in December 2015.

The Scot moved to west London for a reported £11m in July 2014 after topping the Championship goal charts during his time at Leeds United. Hull City forward Sone Aluko completed a move to Craven Cottage last week. Aluko scored on his first pre-season appearance in a 5-0 friendly win over Preston on Tuesday afternoon, but McCormack did not feature for the Whites.

Cameron Jerome signed a new contract at the start of the summer but other senior frontmen Kyle Lafferty and Ricky van Wolfswinkel have played only bit-part roles under Neil at Carrow Road.
