The summer transfer rumour mill has really picked up speed as Norwich City's return to the Premier League has been sealed, with Timm Klose and Harrison Reed both featuring in the latest speculation.

National newspaper The Sun claim Rangers boss Steven Gerrard is keen to sign Canaries centre-back Timm Klose this summer, with his contract due to expire.

The Switzerland international, who turns 31 next month, has 117 games and 10 goals to his name since joining from Wolfsburg in a deal reportedly worth around £8million in January 2016.

While he is one of the current highest earners at Norwich, head coach Daniel Farke dismissed interest from Bundesliga club Hannover at the start of the season and Klose was in top form before injury disrupted his season, with the form of youngster Ben Godfrey keeping him on the bench recently.

The Sun also claim City will monitor former loanee Harrison Reed's situation at Southampton as well, after a successful campaign as a regular for mid-table Championship side Blackburn.

The 24-year-old made 36 appearances for Rovers, scoring three goals and setting up seven, playing mostly on the right of midfield. He missed Saturday's 2-1 loss at Carrow Road though due to an ankle injury cutting short his loan.

The former England U20 international – who made 43 appearances for Norwich during 2017-18 – is now expected to try and impress new Saints boss Ralph Hasenhuttl during pre-season as he still has two years remaining on his contract.

Meanwhile, the first of many expected summer stories from Germany has seen Bayern Munich II striker Kwasi Okyere Wriedt linked with the Canaries.

Fussball Transfers claim Norwich are monitoring the 24-year-old but that Hertha Berlin are also keen, after January interest from RB Salzburg and Genk, with his contract set to expire in 2020.

Wriedt has 23 goals in 31 games to his names so far this season for Bayern II, who lead the Regionalliga Bayern table at the fourth tier of German football with three games remaining – the equivalent level to which City boss Farke and defender Christoph Zimmermann were competing at with Borussia Dortmund II before joining Norwich in 2017.

The powerful forward was born in Germany but has two caps for Ghana and has made two substitute appearances for the Munich first team, having joined from VfL Osnabrück almost two years ago.

Even one of City's young prospects has made it into the rumour mill, with U23 defender Ciaren Jones attracting interest from Leicester, West Ham and Liverpool, according to Football Insider.

PROFILE: Could City youngster be the next to follow in the footsteps of Aarons and Lewis?

The tall centre-back only signed from Luton last summer and signed a new contract until 2020 in February.

The 19-year-old has been a regular for City's U23s this season, making 19 appearances, but was an unused substitute during a 1-0 loss at Fulham on Friday which finished the season for David Wright's squad.

VERDICT: Klose is expected to sign a new deal with City as another Premier League chance awaits but if he was leaving, a return to hometown club Basel or to Germany would seem much more likely than heading to Scotland.

Reed's attitude and previous understanding of Farke's methods could well make him a decent addition to City's squad next season, particularly with his right-back capability from the latter stages of his previous loan – to provide cover for Max Aarons.

Wriedt sounds like a promising prospect but it would seem unlikely City would be looking at a player in the German fourth tier as a front-line option for the Premier League.

The Jones rumour has all the telltale signs of an agent trying to drum up interest in their client, having not been close to the first team at Norwich yet, so it remains to be seen whether a new contract is in the offing – or whether things aren't working out for the former Luton man in Norfolk.
