Outgoing striker Kyle Lafferty is open to a move to Azerbaijan champions Qarabag, when his Norwich City contract expires at the end of this month.

The 29-year-old is looking for a new club and helped Northern Ireland win 1-0 in the capital of Azerbaijan, Baku, in World Cup qualifying at the weekend.

“I heard about the fact they (Qarabag) were supposedly interested in me but I haven’t heard anything more,” Lafferty said. “Who knows what could happen if Qarabag come in with an offer for me?”

Speaking to BBC Sport, he added: “Obviously I’ve spent a few days there and from what I’ve seen the city is fantastic and I was really impressed by the stadium.”

Another player being let go by City this summer, centre-back Sebastien Bassong, continues to be linked with a move to Bursaspor in the Turkish media.

The former Tottenham and Newcastle defender was at City for five seasons and turns 31 in July.
