The long-running saga of Graham Dorrans’ potential move from Norwich City to Rangers has again come to the boil overnight.

The Daily Mail claim City agreed a £1.5million fee with the Scottish giants on Sunday night, with the boyhood Gers fan keen on a move to Ibrox, despite Championship interest from Sheffield Wednesday and Sunderland.

Dorrans, 30, has been a top target for Rangers’ new boss Pedro Caixinha this summer as he sets about closing the gap to champions Celtic.

The Portuguese coach has already signed eight players but the Scotland international is seen as a key signing as he will help to retain a Scottish core of the squad.

The midfielder has scored nine goals in 67 games since initially joining on loan from West Brom in 2015, playing a pivotal role in promotion being secure via the play-offs.

He scored six goals in 24 games last season but missed the best part of three months of the season after injuring his knee in a 3-1 defeat at Reading on Boxing Day.

His future has been the subject of incessant speculation north of the border during the off-season though, with various reports leaving Canaries fans weary of the speculation.

Shifting the Scot’s wages will be helpful to City’s financial adjustments after missing out on promotion back to the top flight but the Canaries appear to have stood strong in negotiations.

News even emerged last week that a counter bid had been made for the Glasgow club’s promising 18-year-old midfielder Jamie Barjonas but it seems Dorrans is finally set to discuss personal terms.
