Norwich City fan and Rotherham United manager Paul Warne believes Tom Adeyemi will end up re-joining his boyhood club or bitter rivals Ipswich Town.

Midfielder Adeyemi starred for Rotherham last season on-loan, scoring seven league and cup goals in 30 games including one in the win over Norwich at the New York Stadium in January and another in a 1-0 win over Town, in an otherwise disappointing season for the Millers who were relegated from the Championship.

Adeyemi has been touted with a return to East Anglia this summer after leaving Cardiff City and Warne is not hopeful of sealing a deal for the free agent.

“I offered him a brilliant deal. He wants to stay in the Championship,” he told the Sheffield Star. “He’s hoping to get it sorted this week. I reckon he will be going to Norwich or Ipswich. I’d still take him if I could. He brings goals to the team.”

Ipswich boss Mick McCarthy refused to be drawn on the 25-year-old, who has also played for Championship rivals Leeds, Brentford and Birmingham, when quizzed about Ipswich’s link with the midfielder, at Monday’s first pre-season press call.
