Reports in Holland claim that Turkish winger Bilal Basacikoglu has attracted interest from Norwich City, Leicester and Hull ahead of the January transfer window.

The 24-year-old is a free agent after his contract with Kayserispor was recently brought to an end 18 months early, with the Turkish club struggling with financial problems.

The former Feyenoord and Heerenveen attacker, who was born in Holland but earned 13 caps for Turkey Under-21s, joined Kayserispor for 1.5million euros in 2018 and registered three goals and four assists in 37 games.

Previously to that Basacikoglu had been an important part of the Feyenoord side which won the Dutch title in 2017, also winning the Dutch Cup in 2016 and 2018, also playing in the Europa League group stages during two campaigns with the Rotterdam club, as well as two Champions League appearances during 2017-18.

Netherlands football magazine ELF Voetbal claim the player's availability has caught the attention of Premier League duo Norwich and Leicester, as well as Championship side Hull - describing him as "a fast winger with a lot of depth in his game".

After leaving Kayserispor last week, Basacikoglu posted a message on his Instagram addressing rumours that he had leaked news, denying those accusations and suggesting that the full story hadn't yet come out.

He continued: "I don't want to talk about these negatives while the club is in this situation. I think it is best to have an end for both sides. I have made many friends for a lifetime in Kayseri. The city of Kayseri will always be special for me, and fans will be in the same way.

"This well established and prominent club will gain momentum and will be able to climb up. This city and these fans deserve more beautiful days. Thank you very much. Goodbye."

VERDICT: Likely to be a player flagged up to plenty of clubs ahead of January, due to his unusual situation of becoming available on a free transfer. Has clearly had a decent career so far and at a decent age he could soon take on decent value, if a club were to take a chance on him.

The Canaries have plenty of attacking options but it's only really Onel Hernandez who plays as a recognised winger, with Todd Cantwell and Emi Buendia more like playmakers who are looking to find space centrally.

Patrick Roberts is another of the wide options but has barely featured since joining on loan from Manchester City, with many City supporters speculating that the arrangement may come to an early end in January.

That would open up a slot in the squad potentially and Basacikoglu would fit into the category of having potential to be an asset in the Championship, if Daniel Farke's team aren't able to retain their Premier League status.
