Norwich City loanee Philip Heise got his season back on track with Nuernberg this weekend, setting up his team’s equaliser against leaders Arminia Bielefeld in Bundesliga Two.

The German has endured something of a stuttering restart, playing on the left wing and twice incurring the wrath of coach Jens Keller for losing possession cheaply ahead of goals, being taken off at half-time in one match.

However, the 28-year-old was back in the starting line-up and played the full 90 minutes of Saturday’s 1-1 away draw, whipping in a dangerous corner from the right which was headed in off the underside of the bar by midfielder Patrick Erras just before the break.

It was a third assist in eight games overall since returning to the German second tier on loan in January. The fourth consecutive draw keeps Nuernberg three points clear of relegation trouble with four games remaining.

Next up for Nuernberg is a home clash against mid-table Greuther Furth on Saturday, in a midday kick-off (UK time).
